dotCMS is rolling out a true SaaS model, which will move customers from periodic upgrades via LTS versions to a continuous deployment model, updating our customers to the latest Current releases of dotCMS on a regular basis with virtually no downtime.

A: Yes, we are beginning to migrate existing customers to the Current version of dotCMS, and all new dotCMS customers are running Current already. Reach out to your CSM when you’re ready to get started!
Q: How will breaking changes or deprecated features be addressed?
Q: How will breaking changes or deprecated features be addressed?
A: We’ll announce deprecations in advance in the app (and possibly by email based on the customer’s SLA). Once something is deprecated, dotCMS cannot guarantee backwards compatibility in a future release.

A: We will use the Announcements feature in dotCMS to communicate new features, and our releases change log to communicate ongoing updates. Change log can be found here:

A: Timing and execution will be based on the complexity and risk of each release to ensure minimal disruption, but will happen at least once every two weeks and as often as a few times per week.
