dotCMS includes many helpful tools/macros for building an automated menu navigation system.  Using these tools allows you to build menu items simply by marking them with a "show on menu" checkbox under their advanced properties.  HTML pages are marked "show on menu" by default as they are created in the system, but can be quickly disabled from their advanced properties tab, if so desired.  Please review the documentation links above to quickly and easily control navigation menus, crumbtrails, and sitemaps on your own templates and pages.
